What is the purpose of this training? 

This training aims to equip participants with advanced technical skills in Data
Science and Artificial Intelligence to improve their career prospects and enhance
employability. 

What is the goal of the DeepTech_Ready Upskilling Program? 

The program’s goal is to train 20,000 youths across Nigeria in technical skills, prepare them for real-world job opportunities, and contribute to the growth of the tech ecosystem. 

Who is this training for? 

This training is for Nigerian youths, aged 18-35, ranging from beginners to intermediate learners in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. 

What will I gain from this training? 

Participants will gain practical skills, mentorship, hands-on project experience, and job readiness training. 

Can I reapply if I’m not selected? 

Yes, non-selected applicants can reapply in subsequent cohorts. 

How are participants selected for the program? 

Selection is based on an evaluation assessments of foundational skills and have to score a minimum of 70% to get accepted into the program. 

Do I need to pay for the training? 

No, the training is free for selected participants. 

What Specialization will be covered? 

Courses include foundational AI concepts, data analysis, machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, geospatial data science and mathematics for advanced machine learning. 

How do I select the Specialization I want? 

During the first 2 weeks of the training commencement you will be able to update your dashboard to whichever specialization you want to learn. 

How will the training be delivered?

The program uses a hybrid learning model with online self-paced courses, in-person sessions at partner hubs, and hands-on projects. 

How long is the training? 

The training runs for approximately 6 months, including learning and project phases. 

Do I need prior knowledge to participate? 

Basic coding, mathematics, and statistics knowledge are required. Participants without these skills can instead opt for the 3MTT foundational training. 

What tools or software will I need? 

You’ll need access to a computer with internet connectivity and tools like Python, SQL, and Jupyter Notebook. 

Can I participate using a mobile device? 

While some aspects of the training can be accessed on mobile devices, a laptop is recommended for assignments and projects. 

Is attendance at the ALC mandatory? 

Yes, in-person sessions at the Applied Learning Clusters (ALCs) are crucial for hands-on training and project immersion. 

Will there be assignments or projects? 

Yes, participants will complete weekly assignments and capstone projects. 

How will my performance be evaluated? 

Through regular assessments, project evaluations, and feedback from mentors. 

Will I receive a certificate? 

Yes, participants who complete the program and meet the requirements will receive a certificate of completion. 

What if I have questions during the training? 

You can ask questions through the learning platform or consult in-person mentors and assistants at the hubs. 

What if I miss the submission of an assignment? 

Can I submit the next week? - Late submissions are typically not accepted, but exceptions can be discussed with your mentor.

Can I provide feedback on the training? 

Yes, participants are encouraged to share feedback through surveys or directly with coordinators.

Participants are encouraged to communicate challenges early to explore possible solutions or rescheduling options.

Yes, offline access is provided via USB-stored videos for participants with limited internet access.
